Department of Energy System Engineering

Energy System Engineering is a multidisciplinary specialization that includes science, engineering, and the development of policies that promote sustainable systems. from a wide array of courses to create your plan of study. You can choose from concentrations in Energy Generation, Distribution and Usage, Transportation Power, and Sustainable Chemical Conversion.

Objectives

The degree program has been developed to prepare engineers to design and implement energy systems for innovative applications by acquiring strengths in their engineering discipline, breadth in relevant engineering and science, and understanding of the critical role of the environment in energy systems, including economic factors. The program covers basic management issues and enables students to develop their ability to lead project teams. There is a significant and industrially relevant team project with industry or government participation.

 Who Should Apply

The M. Eng in Energy Systems is designed to provide critical engineering skills in interlocking energy disciplines. It is particularly appropriate for recently-graduated BS students in engineering who want to work in energy-related areas, or experienced BS or MS engineers who want to refocus their careers or gain more in-depth understanding of the technical and societal drivers in energy technology development and realization.
